Howdy Frisco -

Council just rezoned 104 acres at FM 423 and US 380, Labor Day is Monday (city offices closed, trash delayed), the Frisco Water Park closes for the season after this weekend, and the Rail Yard just announced a 10th anniversary party later this month. Plus a new park with a creek-side trail most people don't know about.

If you're new to Frisco and wondering where the city's next wave of growth is headed, Council just gave you a clear signal: 104.4 acres at the corner of FM 423 and US 380 were rezoned on Aug. 18, approved 5-0 with no opposition.

That intersection sits at the far northwest corner of Frisco, right where the city meets Prosper and Little Elm. The rezoning opens the door for a mix of residential and commercial development on land that was previously zoned for agriculture - part of the broader push to build out the Fields corridor and the areas surrounding the PGA of America headquarters and Universal Kids Resort.

Meanwhile, a much larger proposal - 223.9 acres at Majestic Gardens near Main Street - was tabled until October 6. That one drew more scrutiny from Council, suggesting the conversation about how fast and how dense north Frisco develops is far from settled. For residents already dealing with construction traffic on FM 423 and Coit Road, these decisions will shape your commute and your neighborhood for years to come.

🏢 JPMorgan is opening a new Frisco office. The bank leased 41,000 square feet across two floors at the Tower at Hall Park on Warren Parkway, housing up to 150 employees in commercial banking, private banking, and wealth management. Occupancy expected early 2028.

🏖️ Labor Day is Monday. City offices closed Sept. 7. Curbside trash and recycling delayed by one day all week. Frisco Water Park closes for the season after this weekend - last chance to swim is Saturday.

💰 Budget final vote is Sept. 15. The proposed 3.71% tax rate increase, 9% water rate hike, and $325.3 million budget go to a final Council vote in less than two weeks.
