Merry Christmas, Frisco fam! 🎄

If you're recovering from present-opening chaos and wondering where to eat next week, a cool new spot just opened up.

Anchor Bar (the original home of Buffalo wings, invented back in 1964) is now here at 6129 Main St in Frisco, right across from the National Soccer Hall of Fame.

Early reviews are saying these are the best wings in DFW, and folks from Buffalo are loving the Beef on Weck too. Big TVs, great beer selection, and quick service make it an awesome game-day hangout.

Worth checking out. Get those wings!

🏈 Bowl Game Blues at The Star

The Frisco Bowl brought college football to Ford Center at The Star on Tuesday night, one of several bowl games hosted annually at our indoor stadium. UNLV dropped to Ohio 17-10. About 6,521 fans watched the Rebels struggle through self-inflicted mistakes. They were shut out in the first half, turned the ball over twice, and even had a touchdown wiped out by penalty.

The bright spot? Senior linebacker Marsel McDuffie (Grand Prairie native) led with nine tackles in his final game. UNLV finished 10-4 but missed their shot at back-to-back 11-win seasons.

Ohio won their seventh straight bowl game. The Rebels? Well, at least they got to experience Frisco for a few days.

🍽️ DFW Airport Wants Local Flavor

DFW Airport is hunting for 14 new shops and restaurants to fill terminals A, B, E and F. They want local brands that scream "North Texas" to the 87 million annual travelers (heading to 100 million by 2030).

The request for proposals is open through Feb. 2 for 11 food spots and three retail stores. Everything from fast-casual to grab-and-go to specialty shops.

If you've got a local business idea that could work at the airport, now's your shot. This is part of DFW's $12 billion capital improvement plan, including the new Terminal F expansion.

🎒 Frisco Education Foundation Steps Up

During the recent government shutdown, some Frisco ISD families went without paychecks. Kids still got fed in cafeterias, but negative meal balances piled up by over $12,500.

The Frisco Education Foundation ran a donation drive and collected over $3,300 to help pay down those balances. From Oct. 31 to Dec. 19, the district removed negative balance limits so no kid went hungry.

"This is what our community does best. We come together when families need support," said Ashley Sine, FEF director. Donations to FEF are always welcome at friscoef.org.
