Howdy Frisco -

College golf's biggest tournament is happening right now at PGA Frisco, with NCAA champion Stanford and No. 2 Texas on Golf Channel through tomorrow. Also: the budget passed last night, the mosquito count hit 12, North Texas Giving Day is tomorrow, Chubby Skewers just brought Chinese BBQ to The Star, and there's an SRV tribute dinner show this week.

The Jackson T. Stephens Cup, college golf's premier tournament, is happening right now at Fields Ranch East at PGA Frisco through tomorrow (Sept. 14-16). If you're anywhere near the PGA District this week, you're watching future PGA and LPGA Tour stars compete live.

The women's field includes 2026 NCAA champion Stanford and defending JTS Cup champion Wake Forest, alongside Florida State, Oregon, South Carolina, and Texas. The men's field features No. 2 Texas, Texas A&M, Houston, Rice, SMU, and Utah. Individual players from HBCUs and U.S. military service academies are also competing.

Two rounds of stroke play happened yesterday, with the third round today and match play seeding for tomorrow's championship. Daily coverage is airing live on Golf Channel. General admission is $25/day at jacksontstephenscup.com, and kids 15 and under get in free with a ticketed adult.

Frisco is gearing up for an even bigger stretch of championship golf - the 2027 PGA Championship is coming to PGA Frisco, with Choctaw recently named as the official partner.

Frisco's first Chinese barbecue chain just opened at The Star. Guests cook skewers themselves at the table - think DIY grilling with marinated meats, seafood, and vegetables over tabletop charcoal. The brand picked Frisco over every other city in Texas for its debut.

💰 Council adopted the FY27 budget last night. Property tax rate stays flat for the 10th year. Water/sewer increases ($9.99/month) and the $325.3M budget passed. New rates take effect Oct. 1.

🪱 Mosquito count hits 12. Two more pools tested positive Sept. 11 in Frisco Avalon/Meadow Hill Estates and Edgestone/Stewart Creek Estates. Sprayed Sept. 12-13. Still no human cases.
