Howdy Frisco -

The city is throwing a party on Main Street Tuesday night. Ribbon cutting, live music, a ticketed chef's dinner, and a drone show over the Rail District at 8PM. It's the official celebration of Frisco's $70 million downtown makeover - and you're invited. Also: a 7-month roundabout construction starts Monday and Scarecrow Junction is running all October.

Here's your week ahead.

After nine years of planning, construction, and torn-up streets, the city is officially celebrating the finished Rail District with a free public event on Tuesday evening.

The Rail District Celebration takes over 4th Street Plaza from 6 to 9PM. Main Street will be closed between 3rd Street and North County Road for the event. Here's the schedule:

🎗️ 6:00PM - Ribbon cutting at the plaza stage
🎵 6:00-9:00PM - Live music and performances on the stage
🍽️ 7:00PM - "Plated: A Chef's Table on Main" (ticketed dinner experience)
🪁 8:00PM - Drone show over the Rail District
🌟 9:00PM - Festivities end

The city is asking everyone to park in the new parking garage at Elm and 3rd Streets (it's free) and walk to the plaza. This is the same garage that opened earlier this year as part of the $70 million downtown redevelopment.

It's also Scarecrow Junction in the Rail District all month - look for scarecrows throughout downtown while you're there.

🚧 Frisco Street and Cobb Hill Drive closes Monday for 7 months. Crews are building a roundabout at the intersection. Plan alternate routes starting Oct. 12.

🎃 Scarecrow Junction is running all October. Look for scarecrows throughout the Rail District downtown.

🏡 Heritage Hollow - Nov. 14. Annual heritage event at the Frisco Heritage Center.
