Main Street in the Rail District is reopening just in time for New Year's Eve. By the end of December, you'll have two lanes in each direction plus real sidewalks to walk on.
If you've been avoiding downtown because of construction, good news. We're back in business.
🔥 BBQ Team Smoking the Competition
Frisco High School's Blazin' Raccoon BBQ team just won a "Golden Ticket" to the World Food Championships in Indianapolis next year.
These kids had zero BBQ experience two years ago. Now they're competing at worlds.
They made "Poor Man's Burnt Ends" at a Walmart competition and took second place. The kicker? They got a late start that morning. Meat didn't hit the smoker until 6:45 a.m.
Pressure makes diamonds. Or in this case, burnt ends.
🏗️ Railhead Gets a Facelift (Literally)
Two local plastic surgeons just bought land at the huge Frisco Railhead development. They're building an 11,000-square-foot clinic starting in January.
But that's just one piece. Railhead is planning hotel towers, office buildings, shops, and a 5-acre park. Once everything's done, about 8,000 people could visit daily.
Food trucks are coming. Public spaces are opening up. This place is going from construction site to hangout spot.
🛍️ Retail Vibes Near Bacchus Park
Remember that retail project near Bacchus Park that got rejected two years ago? It's back.
The city liked the new version better. No drive-thrus, no gas stations, no big box stores. Just pedestrian-friendly shops with brick and stone buildings that match the park.
There will be a sidewalk connecting the shops to the park. City Council still needs to approve it, but it's looking good.
