Howdy Frisco -

WeWork is doubling its space over in Legacy Town Center, expanding to 53,776 square feet across two floors. Which means somewhere in Plano right now, someone's very excited about a "collaborative meeting room" while I'm just trying to remember if I packed my kid's other shoe for daycare.

We can't all be thriving the same way.

Anyway, real news below.

🏗️ Here's everything coming to Frisco's $800 million Fields West

Cranes and steel are pretty much all you can see out there right now, but developers just dropped the tenant list for Fields West, and it's a big one. More than 35 businesses have already signed on, with more announcements still coming before the first phase opens in late 2027.

The development itself is massive: 360,000 square feet of retail and dining, 350,000 square feet of office space, and over 1,100 luxury apartments, all built as a walkable district with wide sidewalks and tree-lined paths connecting everything.

On the food side, you've got Shake Shack, Sweetgreen, Nando's, North Italia, and Mastro's Steakhouse all confirmed, plus Culinary Dropout and Sixty Vines for date night once we ever get a sitter again. Retail-wise, think Crate & Barrel, Pottery Barn, Kendra Scott, Alo, and Sephora, so basically the mall Emily's been manifesting for years.

"Opening Fields West in 2027 will change Frisco forever," developer Fehmi Karahan said, and honestly for a $800 million project a few miles from my house, I believe him.

🏭 McKinney just landed a $919 million manufacturing plant

Taiwan-based Lite-On is opening an advanced manufacturing facility at the Core5 Logistics Center in McKinney, expected to bring at least 600 jobs to the area. It's one of the largest private investments in McKinney's history.

The company is spending $108.5 million just to acquire the existing industrial space, with the full campus spanning more than 650,000 square feet once complete. Positions will span engineering, advanced manufacturing, and corporate operations, opening in phases over the next several years.

Worth noting: the McKinney ISD board actually voted down a property tax incentive request tied to the project, with trustees citing concerns about losing funding for schools. So even a win this size isn't landing without some real debate locally.

North Texas keeps landing these massive projects, and it's becoming less "is this normal" and more "yep, checks out."

☕ Heritage Coffee is bringing something different to the Rail District

Husband and wife team Hibah Abudaabes and Al-Mahdi Saleh opened Heritage Coffee last May, blending Palestinian and Yemeni flavors into an otherwise classic coffee shop menu. The move here is the pistachio latte, made with house-made pistachio milk because the pre-made syrup wasn't cutting it for them.

They're also sourcing local, with beans from Eiland Coffee Roasters in Richardson and pastries from Ollio Patisserie (Frisco and The Colony locations).

Good news for anyone who's been in: they're expanding into the unit next door, with more seating expected later this summer.

I'm always looking for a coffee shop that isn't a Starbucks drive thru chaos with two toddlers screaming for a "baby-ccino" in the backseat. This one's going on my list to actually sit down at.
