Howdy Frisco -

A 290-room hotel and a 3,000-person music venue are coming to Toyota Stadium. Hunt Sports Development dropped the news today, and it's the biggest entertainment announcement in Frisco since Universal. Also: Safety Saturday is this Saturday, the 89-lot Hillcrest/PGA residential project went back to P&Z tonight, and Bread Zeppelin is now open.

Hunt Sports Development announced today that a new mixed-use entertainment district is coming to the east side of Toyota Stadium, and it is not small.

The first phase includes a 290-room boutique hotel with a rooftop bar and spa, more than 40,000 square feet of convention and event space, and a flexible venue that can host up to 3,000 people as a music hall. Hunt is partnering with Peak Curated Development and Venu Holding Corporation on the project, with groundbreaking planned for 2027.

Across the street, a separate multi-phase office complex is planned west of the stadium with more than 1 million square feet of premium office space.

The announcement also revealed that the Toyota Stadium renovation - originally approved at $182 million - is now pegged at $215 million, though no explanation was given for the increase.

If you step back and look at the map, the pattern is clear: PGA Frisco to the northwest, Firefly Park in between, Universal Kids Resort under construction, and now a hotel-and-music-venue district at Toyota Stadium. Frisco's entertainment corridor is filling in fast.

🏠 89-lot residential project went back to P&Z tonight. The 266.5-acre development at Hillcrest and PGA Parkway (24 single-family lots, 65 patio home lots, 14 HOA lots) was revisited at tonight's Planning and Zoning Commission meeting after getting a 30-day extension last month.
