Howdy Frisco -

India's biggest restaurant chain just opened its first American location - and it's on Preston Road. Haldiram's debuted in Frisco on Oct 11 with Indian street food, sweets, and a 4,400-square-foot space. Also: DFW Fall Fest and Music on Main are both Saturday, Patrick Casey plays the new 4th Street Plaza tomorrow night, and fall weather is finally here - highs in the low 60s all weekend.

Here's your weekend.

🍛 India Food Giant Expands to US in Frisco

Haldiram's - one of India's largest and most recognizable food brands - opened its first U.S. location in Frisco on October 11.

The 4,400-square-foot restaurant is at 7010 Preston Road, Suite 240, and serves traditional Indian dishes, street food, and the sweets the chain is famous for. The Frisco opening comes after Haldiram's made its overseas restaurant debut in Dubai and London.

Haldiram's isn't a small brand testing a new market. The food company has been a household name in India for decades, producing snacks and sweets, and operating 150+ restaurant locations across India. Choosing Frisco for its American launch says something about where the DFW dining scene is heading - and about Frisco's growing South Asian community.

Haldiram's, 7010 Preston Rd Suite 240, Frisco. Now open.

🏡 Heritage Hollow - Nov. 14. Annual heritage event at the Frisco Heritage Center.

Big companies hedge their risks. Now your business can too.

For US farm, ranch and small business owners.

Airlines hedge fuel. Food companies hedge crops. For decades, protecting a business from outcomes it can't control took a broker, a trading desk and an order size most owners never had.

Kalshi opens hedging up to small businesses. Pick the outcome that would hurt you, like a fuel spike, a heat wave, a new tariff or a rate hike, and take a position on it, starting at a few dollars. If it happens, the payout offsets the hit. If it doesn't, the contract expires and the good month was the point.

A California goat herder and a Maryland tea company already do it, and CNBC, Reuters and The New York Times have covered businesses hedging on Kalshi.

Kalshi is a federally regulated exchange.
