Howdy Frisco -
Mosquito spray trucks are rolling through downtown tonight for the first time this season. If you're in the Rail District, Hickory Springs, or Oakbrook Park Estates, here's what you need to know. Also: you donβt want to miss Sundayβs soul event!
Let's get into it.
πͺ± Mosquitoes Hit Downtown This Time
If you live in or near the Rail District, Hickory Springs, or Oakbrook Park Estates: mosquito spray trucks are rolling through your neighborhood tonight (Saturday) and tomorrow night (Sunday), 9PM to 5AM both nights.
The city confirmed yesterday that a seventh mosquito pool tested positive for West Nile virus this year. The previous six positives were all further north and west of town - Plantation Resort, Plantation Springs, Hillcrest Estates - so this is the first time downtown Frisco has been in the spray zone this season.
Still no human cases reported in Frisco in 2026. The standard advice holds: wear long sleeves at dawn and dusk, apply EPA-approved repellent, and dump any standing water around your home where mosquitoes breed. If you're planning to be outside in these neighborhoods after 9PM this weekend, you'll want to know the truck is coming through.
