Oktoberfest is this Saturday. Dachshund Dash, stein hoisting for the VFW, brat eating contests, 100 local vendors, and plenty of bier - all day at The Star, completely free. Heads up: the forecast says rain, so plan accordingly.

The 7th annual Frisco Oktoberfest takes over The Star this Saturday, October 3rd, from 11AM to 9PM. Admission is free.

Presented by Nine Band Brewing Co. and hosted by SBG Hospitality, the festival packs a full day of authentic Oktoberfest games, music, food, and bier into one of Frisco's biggest annual events. Here's what's happening:

The Games. The Dachshund Dash is back. Stein hoisting returns at $25 per entry, with all proceeds going to the Frisco Veterans of Foreign Wars. There's also a brat eating contest, keg rolling races, and stein relays. Sign-ups are on-site at the Whataburger Activities Stage, with prizes including free bier and Whataburger for a year.

The Marktplatz. More than 100 local vendors will set up shop across the festival grounds - everything from handmade goods to local businesses.

The Food & Bier. Traditional German cuisine alongside food from local restaurants, with dedicated beverage tents throughout. Purchases are made directly from event vendors.

The Music. Authentic Oktoberfest music and dancing all day long.

🤖 Kyndryl just opened a $40 million AI lab in Frisco. The facility at 5844 John Hickman Parkway launched yesterday and is expected to bring up to 300 tech and engineering jobs to the area.

🛒 Trader Joe's returns to City Council in October. P&Z approved it unanimously in July. Council tabled it in August. The final vote is coming.

🏫 Frisco ISD bond committee begins work this month. The 100-person stakeholder committee starts meeting in late October to shape a potential May 2027 bond focused on building maintenance and repairs.

It just opened and it's already one of Frisco's best parks. Northwest Community Park has mountain bike trails (Frisco's first), a pump track, a skills park, three playgrounds for different age groups, a splash pad, a dog park, and the Prairie Lookout observation area. It's massive, and it's the kind of park where you show up for an hour and stay for three.
