Howdy Frisco -

Well, it finally happened. Spirit Airlines flew its last flight into DFW on May 2nd and then just... stopped. The last flight landed at 12:09 a.m., and by morning, the website said "we've ceased operations."

Somewhere, 444 DFW employees are sending out resumes, and somewhere, a guy named Chad is furious his $49 flight to Cancun got canceled. RIP to the yellow planes, the middle seats with no recline, and the $85 carry-on fee. You were an experience.

Here's what's happening in Frisco. ⬇️

🏌️ Frisco's Biggest Sports Moment is 12 Months Away (And There's Money in It)

The 2027 PGA Championship is coming to Frisco, and it runs May 20-23 next year at PGA Frisco. We're talking a $100 million projected economic impact on North Texas. The first time a men's major championship has been in North Texas since 1963.

Here's what's new: if you own a business, there's a real opportunity right now.

The PGA just launched VendorMatch, a program connecting local businesses with procurement contracts before, during, and after the tournament. We're talking construction, food and beverage, hospitality, transportation, signage, and more. The registration deadline is May 27.

You don't have to be golf-related to participate. According to PGA Championship Director Jason Mengel, construction and service crews will be working in the community from February through August 2027, which means sustained demand for local hotels, restaurants, and rental properties for months.

The tournament will also create more than 1,300 temporary jobs in the lead-up to the event.

If you or someone you know runs a local business, this deadline is worth paying attention to. Apply at pga.com/pga-of-america/pga-vendormatch.

🥪 New Restaurant Alert: Sourdough & Co. is Coming to Preston Road

Fall 2026, Preston Road is getting a Sourdough & Co.

The chain does sourdough-based sandwiches, flatbreads, salads, and a rotating soup menu. Their signature is a New England clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl, which, honestly, I did not know I needed until right now.

Location: 3311 Preston Road, Ste. 2, Frisco

🚧 Road Construction Update: Meadow Hill Drive is Getting a Glow-Up

Big one for anyone who drives through that stretch near North County Road: Meadow Hill Drive is about to get a full reconstruction.

Frisco City Council approved the contract at their May 5 meeting. Here's what's coming:

  • Asphalt replaced with reinforced concrete

  • Two single-lane roundabouts being built

  • Drainage and driveway improvements throughout

Timeline: June 2026 through fall 2027 Cost: $2.16 million, funded by the city of Frisco

Roundabouts are fine. Two roundabouts back-to-back on the same road? We'll see how that goes in practice.

A few other nearby projects worth knowing:

  • Coit Road in Prosper is expanding to six lanes. Phase 1 (First Street to Prosper Trail) wraps up this fall. Phase 2 is delayed and won't start until end of year. Total cost: $24 million.

  • Tennyson Pkwy at Corporate Drive in Plano is getting turn lane and signal upgrades. Expected to wrap by Q3 2026.

Plan your routes accordingly. Summer construction season is officially upon us.

🏡 214 Homes Sold In April. Is Yours Next?

Sales are actually up year over year. 214 homes sold in Frisco last month, compared to 204 in April 2025. And the sweet spot? The $400K-$700K range is where most of them are moving.

That's not a down market. That's a market that rewards the right agent with the right strategy.

My wife Emily built her AI Agent Matching System to do exactly that. Skip the guesswork, skip the Zillow roulette, and get matched with the specialist who's actually closing deals in your neighborhood and price range right now.
