Howdy Frisco -
Frisco ISD just sent 39 students to the state science fair. One Fowler Middle School 7th grader built an AI tool to detect autism through a blood test.
Another team from Wakeland tracked plant stress in real time using electrophysiology and edge-deployed machine learning. I barely know what that means and I work in tech.
My 4-year-old's current scientific achievement is correctly identifying a triangle. We have work to do.
Now, let’s get into it. ⬇️
📈 Collin County Is One of the Fastest-Growing Places in America. Here's What That Actually Means.
You already knew Frisco was growing. The new Census numbers just put a real figure on it.
Collin County added nearly 43,000 residents between July 2024 and July 2025, a 3.4% jump in one year, making it the second fastest-growing county in the country, behind only Harris County down in Houston.
Total population: nearly 1.3 million people.
That's the equivalent of dropping a whole mid-sized city into our county in twelve months.
Meanwhile, Dallas is shrinking
While Collin County surged, Dallas County actually lost population during the same period, one of the larger percentage drops in the nation.
People are moving out. A lot of them are moving up here.
Frisco is still a core anchor of Collin County's expansion alongside Plano, McKinney, and Allen. But the frontier is moving north and east fast.
Long-term projections put Collin County at 2.2 million residents by 2060, roughly double today. Enjoy the traffic while it's only this bad.
⚽ North Texas Just Got $61 Million to Host the World
If you haven't fully internalized that the 2026 FIFA World Cup is happening in our backyard, this might do it.
The North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) just received $61 million in federal funding, $51.5M through FEMA's $625M national grant program, plus $10M from the Federal Transit Administration, to prepare the region for the tournament. On top of that, Houston got a separate chunk, bringing the Texas total to $116 million in World Cup safety and infrastructure grants.
What does that mean for Frisco specifically?
Frisco is an official team base camp. One of four European teams (Poland, Albania, Ukraine, or Sweden - qualifier coming soon) will train at Toyota Stadium, currently mid-renovation to the tune of $182 million.
AT&T Stadium in Arlington (our de facto backyard) will host 9 matches - more than any other US city - including a semifinal.
The region could see up to 150,000 daily visitors during the tournament.
Tickets go on sale April 2 through FIFA's last-minute sales phase, starting at 9 a.m.
The World Cup runs June 11 through July 19.
As someone who moved here in 2023, I feel like I timed my arrival extremely well. My daughters won't remember any of this. But someday I'll tell them: you were here.
🌿 A $40M Park Is Coming to Northwest Frisco And It's Not Your Typical Sports Complex
This one genuinely excited me as a newer resident.
Northwest Community Park, a 122-acre nature-focused destination park, is on track to open this June. According to Frisco's Parks and Recreation department, construction is about 70% complete and right on schedule.
Here's what makes it different: no football fields, no soccer nets. This park is built around cycling, nature, and families.
What's coming:
🚲 Bike park for beginners + asphalt pump tracks for intermediate riders + off-road trails with jumps
💦 Splash pad
🌾 Miles of hike-and-bike trails through native Blackland Prairie
🐕 Dog park, event lawn, food truck spaces, playgrounds
The Dallas Off-Road Bicycling Association (DORBA) is calling it the potential "gold standard" for mountain bike parks in North Texas. That's a big claim.
My girls aren't quite ready for pump tracks, but a splash pad + trails + food trucks? That's a Saturday morning we'll be driving across town for. Mayor Jeff Cheney, who's wrapping up his term in May, called it one of his legacy projects. Looking at what's coming, I think he's earned the brag.
🏠 The $97,000 Question
Would you rather sell your Frisco home for $582,000 or $680,000?
Not a trick question. Those are the actual numbers right now.
The median list price in Frisco is $680,000. The median sale price is $582,583. That's a $97,000 gap and nearly 80% of Frisco homes are selling below asking. (Data: Zillow, Jan/Feb 2026.)
Homes are also sitting an average of 64 days before going pending. This is not a "throw it on Zillow and wait" market.
The difference between landing closer to $680K and settling near $582K almost always comes down to two things: pricing strategy and agent execution.
That's exactly what Emily's free referral service is built for. She matches Frisco sellers with agents who know how to price it right and negotiate to win, not just list it and hope.
