Howdy Frisco -
City Council unanimously approved the economic development deal with the Hunt family for the Toyota Stadium mixed-use project Tuesday night. It’s one of the biggest development agreements Frisco has made this year. Also: Trick or Treat the Square is tomorrow, stormwater fees are going up again, and Industrial Cigar Co throws its 10th annual Halloween bash Saturday night.
Here's your weekend.

The Frisco City Council voted unanimously Tuesday night (Oct 20) to execute a Chapter 380 Economic Development Agreement with the Hunt family, who operate Toyota Stadium.
The agreement allows the city to apply for state grants and incentives to support the planned mixed-use development around Toyota Stadium. The Hunt Sports Group announced earlier this year that the project would bring a hotel, a music venue, and mixed-use space to the Toyota Stadium campus — one of the most ambitious additions to the stadium district since it opened.
Tuesday’s vote is the financial framework that moves the project from concept to reality. The city can now pursue state-level funding to support infrastructure and development tied to the project.

Filtered Water In Your Kitchen
Want filtered water in your kitchen? Let’s compare countertop gravity filters - no electricity, no plumbing, no plastic bottles. Three brands lead:
💧 Berkey ($367) — Widest filtration (200+ contaminants). Only one that removes fluoride (with $50 add-on). 6,000-gallon filter life (~2¢/gallon). Stainless steel. Downsides: no NSF certification, past EPA disputes, aluminum leaching found in testing.
💧 Rorra ($549) — Sleekest design, smart sensors, nearly plastic-free. But: filters only 50+ contaminants, zero fluoride removal, mandatory 90-day filter subscription makes it the priciest to run. No certifications.
💧 Boroux ($355-455) — Built by former Berkey distributors who fixed the certification and EPA issues. 100% stainless steel, NSF certified, publishes full third-party test data. Similar filtration and filter life to Berkey. No fluoride removal.
Bottom line: Berkey for the widest coverage including fluoride. Rorra for aesthetics and tech, if you don’t mind the subscription. Boroux for the best all-rounder — certified, transparent, stainless, no baggage.
